You are welcome to book an appointment with or without a referral. To access Medicare rebates, you will need a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP), which can be arranged through your GP. However, a referral is not required to begin—private appointments are available at any time. Please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions or would like support with the process.

Medicare

A Mental Health Care Plan is a document prepared by your GP to support your mental health and wellbeing. It provides access to Medicare rebates for up to 10 individual psychology sessions per calendar year. The plan is developed following a consultation with your doctor, where you’ll discuss your mental health needs. Once you obtain your Mental Health Care Plan, you can either ask your GP to email a copy of the plan directly to me at biyankadhotherpsychology@gmail.com, email me a copy yourself, or bring the physical document to your first appointment.

Private Health

If you have private health insurance with extras cover that includes psychology, you may be able to claim a rebate for your sessions. The amount covered and number of sessions will depend on your individual policy, so it’s best to check directly with your insurer. Please note that Medicare rebates through a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and private health rebates cannot be claimed for the same session.

Other Providers

Currently, I don’t provide services through other funding providers such as the NDIS, Work Cover, or Veterans Affairs. My focus is on offering direct psychology support through private sessions or via a Mental Health Care Plan. If you’re unsure whether I can assist you, please feel free to get in touch.
